So for someone who thinks does a pretty good job when it comes to building partnerships with people (ehm…ME!) here are my tips when it comes trying to negotiate with someone:

Just as they say you should choose your friends wisely, I think you should also choose your mentors wisely. When I look for someone to mentor me for a specific purpose I consider the following things:
Everyone has different views on whether or not it is a good idea to have an office relationship. I don’t think you should go out and search for love in the work place but if there happens to be someone that catches your eye and you both connect don’t immediately write it off.
When looking to gain something through networking, the question on whether or not you should depend on your friends can be tough to determine. Of course networking is all about who you know but you should be careful to not abuse your relationships with people close to you.
Although the holidays are a time of celebration it can also be a little stressful (and sometimes awkward) for the single guys and gals out there, especially for those older singles (ahem…ME!) . We want to celebrate and have a great time catching up with everyone just as much as you do but there are certain questions/topics you should be very careful talking about.
